How to Make a Wells Fargo Credit Card Payment, August 2021

We all know that when it comes to paying bills, the ability to pay them online has radically improved the ease and convenience of bill payments.

For any number of reasons you may choose to not use that option, but it is great to know you have a choice that suits your needs.

If you have a Wells Fargo credit card, you may be wondering what payment options are available to you. At Wells Fargo there are several options for making online bill payments, to give you maximum versatility and choice. Let’s take a look at the options you have available.

Online Wells Fargo Credit Card Payment

The easiest option is to simply pay your Wells Fargo credit card bill online.

Simply log on to www.wellsfargo.com and head over to the “Transfer & Pay” tab located under the Banking/Credit Cards sub-section of the “Personal” section of the site.

The “Transfer & Pay” option for small businesses can be found in the “Small Business” section under the “Products and Services” subsection.

You can quickly enroll in online bill pay here. Your Wells Fargo credit card information will already be there once your credentials are verified. You can either pay your bill monthly or set up an auto-pay option. Choose the date for payment and the payment amount.

You will be provided a confirmation of payment on the screen, as well as an email verifying your payment has been made.

You may also choose to make a payment through the Wells Fargo mobile phone app on your smartphone. Just install it on your mobile device, log on, and follow the prompts to the bill pay section to make your payment.

Wells Fargo Credit Card Payment by Mail

If you prefer the traditional bill payment method, simply fill out the necessary fields on the paystub and enclose a check with your payment amount, put it in a stamped envelope, and drop it in the mail.

When mailing via regular mail, the payments can be sent to “Wells Fargo Card Services, P.O. Box 51193, Los Angeles, CA 90051-5493“. If sent by express mail, you may send it to “Lockbox Services 51193, Attn: WF Consumer Credit Card, 3440 Flair Drive, El Monte, CA 91731“.

Just make sure to check the due date of the bill and give yourself several days’ lead. A payment arriving after its due date will incur a $37 “late” fee (see Wells Fargo Platinum Card Terms). Payment may also be returned for insufficient funds, which will incur a $37 returned check fee (along with the late fee).

It’s a good idea to send your payment seven to ten days before the due date to make sure it arrives on time.

Make Your Credit Card Payment by Phone

To save on stamps and the hassle of going to the post office, or even your mailbox, you can opt to just pay the bill by phone. Simply call 800-869-3557 and you will be prompted for your bank account information (routing number, account number, etc.) to complete your payment.

Automatically Recurring Payments

If the payment you make every month is consistently the same or if you just want to pay off your balance monthly, you may ask for an enrollment form when calling to be added to a recurring payment option. You can then have the chosen amount deducted automatically every month.

The payments will always be withdrawn automatically on the statement due date and that date cannot be changed. You may choose to alter your recurring amount by contacting customer service at 877-805-7744. Please allow 30 to 60 days for the alteration to take effect.

Any payments made by the midnight will count as posting on that day. You will want to ensure that the funds for the automatic payments are sufficient for when the payment is to be made.
