Finding products and placing orders on Amazon is super convenient!
But without navigating through specific menus and clicking on the right links, you won’t be able to find the right options to delete Amazon cards.
Managing your account and your payment cards can get overwhelming and frustrating because of this, especially if you’ve never navigated through the settings menus of the website before.
Don’t fret – I’ve got you covered!
This post will guide you through how you can delete a credit or a debit card from your Amazon account.
How To Delete Credit And Debit Cards From Amazon.com (On Laptops And Desktops)
Step #1: Log Into Your Amazon Account
When you navigate to www.amazon.com from your browser of choice, a “Sign In” pop-up should appear on the top right, under the “Accounts & Lists” dropdown. Click on it.
If the pop-up goes away, don’t worry. Just point your cursor over the “Accounts & Lists” dropdown, and a “Sign In” button will be the first thing you see. Click on it.
Enter your email address and password, and sign in to your account.
Step #2: Navigate To The “Your Account” Section
After you sign in, you’ll be redirected back to the Amazon homepage.
You now need to point your cursor over the “Accounts & Lists” dropdown. There’s no need to click it – just hover over it for a second, and a menu will appear.
The menu is split into two sections: “Your Lists” and “Your Account.”
Click on the “Your Account” link – it’s the first link you will see under the “Your Account” section of the menu.
This will take you to the account settings page.
Step #3: Find The Payment Options
You will see a lot of sections and links on the account settings page of your Amazon account.
But on the bottom left portion of the screen, you will find the “Ordering and shopping preferences” section. It has several links under it, just like the other sections on the page.
To get one step closer to delete Amazon cards, you must click on the second link, viz. the “Payment Options” link under the “Ordering and shopping preferences” section.
Step #4: Delete Your Card
A new page will load, and you will see both the “Your debit and credit cards” section and the “Your balances” section.
Under the previous section, you will find all of your connected credit and debit cards listed.
Click on the arrow on the rightmost portion of the card you want to delete. Details like the name on the card and the billing address will appear under a new section.
On the bottom-right corner of this section, the “Remove” and “Edit” buttons will appear.
Click on the “Remove” button.
Amazon will then prompt you to confirm if you want to delete your card. Click on the “Confirm Remove” button, and your card will disappear from Amazon.
You don’t have to use a laptop to delete Amazon card – you can also do it with the mobile app.
How To Delete Credit And Debit Cards From Amazon (On Mobile)
Step #1: Log In To Your Amazon Account
Install the Amazon application on your Android or iOS device, and log into your account.
If you accidentally hit the “skip” button when the login page appears, don’t worry. You can find the “Sign Up” button by opening the hamburger menu on the top left.
Step #2: Navigate To The Payment Options Section
When you tap on the hamburger menu on the top left of the Amazon app, a list of settings will appear.
Under the “My Account” section of this list, tap on the “Manage payment options” link. It’s the third link in the section.
Step #3: Delete Your Card
Any cards that you’ve used on Amazon in the past will appear on this page.
Unlike on desktop, you don’t have to open a dropdown menu. The “Edit” and “Delete” options appear right under the name of the debit/credit card.
Tap on the “Delete” option, and confirm the removal of the card when prompted.
Deleting cards on the app is faster and easier!
Things To Remember After You Delete Cards From Amazon

You must remember that after you delete a credit card from your Amazon account, the payment methods on previous orders will remain the same.
You will still be charged for any orders you’ve placed previously from the same credit card.
If you want to change the payment method for your orders, you must navigate to the “Your Orders” section in the “Account & Lists” dropdown, and find the order from the page that appears.
When you click on the order, it’s details will appear.
Click on the “Change” button next to the credit card, and add another card in its place.
Also, keep in mind that some HSA cards will not register as FSA/HSA cards on Amazon when replacing the card.
But you can still use these cards as regular credit cards. If you accidentally order with a card that’s not eligible, you cannot replace the payment information of the order before it’s delivered.
If you want to change the card before then, you will need to cancel the order altogether and reorder with another card.
Conclusion
Amazon’s interface makes finding products convenient, but finding the right settings to remove cards can be a lot more complicated.
But now that you have the instructions handy, you’ll be able to delete Amazon cards without any hassle.
